Although the age of eating on TV tables is gone and relegated to the 1980's there are a number of portable tables that are still being used in our more modern times. TV tables are now called TV trays, by the way in case you wish to shop for some.

Worktables that slip under a bed, or under a couch for instance are now very common as portable table. Some of them lean down for use with a laptop computer, thus they may feature adjustable heights and angles, but they also fold away when not being used.

Then there are the ubiquitous magazine snack table combinations that are shaped in a C so that they can nestle up to an easy chair or perhaps a couch that are still portable tables. Usually these are presented in a picture that shows this type of portable table holding drinks, snacks, a TV remote, or even an open book. The backside will be shown as a very useful magazine holder.

Among portable table can be found the folding coffee table. It is heralded as the perfect solution for those needing a portable, space saving cocktail table, such as in a small mobile home or a bachelor's pad. The design is crafted in such a manner that it can easily accommodate four adults, and they are tested for over 75 pounds. The legs are made intentionally very strong, and it features specially designed locking hinges in order to prevent unintentional folding, yet the lock is easily released.

Then as a choice in portable tables are the camping tables that fold up into a backpack. These have telescoping legs and of course they are extremely lightweight. Most of them are constructed in aluminum, and many find them extremely handy for cooking, picnics or in exceedingly small RVs. For specific outdoor use, many of them will also feature adjustable leg heights so that they can be used on very uneven terrain. There are even portable tables used for camping and such that actually roll up to be put away or carried.

Then of course, you have folding lightweight banquet tables. Most of them are 6 foot long when unfolded, and they have a handy built in carrying handle. Many find them very useful at picnics, family events, church socials, impromptu buffets, and such. They are easily portable table.

We then come to the ubiquitous card table, the granddaddy of folding portable table. There was a time when every family had one, as tabletop games were synonymous with families. They are not in so much use today, as tabletop games have been replaced with television set games or computerized games in general.

Finally, there are different kinds of portable table used in business, such as those specifically made for architecture and engineering. These particular parallel straightedge drafting boards are extremely compact and are equipped with a handle making for easy portability. Of course they feature non-slip folding legs. The acrylic straightedge sports an inking edge for unsoiled results with pens and they even include a twin break locking system. These portable table will actually allow them to overhang a table edge at a perfect workable angle.
