Portable Picnic Table
As incredible as it seems, modern ingenuity has been able to formulate a portable picnic table for us. As a matter of fact there are more than one kind to be had.
Can you picture yourself, your wife, and your two teenagers going to a State Park, taking in the fresh air, perhaps doing some fishing for dinner, playing in the streams to cool off and then perhaps indulging in a game of horseshoes. Then comes the great part, taking less than two minutes to unfold a complete portable picnic table and being able to dine al fresco enjoying nature with ease and fun? All you need to do then is to insert the umbrella into the center posthole and voila, a perfect portable picnic table for four adults!
Some lower cost versions are made of plastic and feature an aluminum hollow frame, while some have hardwood slats and aluminum construction, but all of them are portable because they fold right up, turning into a small case that makes it easy to stow away in a car's trunk until needed. Imagine no longer brushing off ants from your food as you sit up on a portable picnic table away from those crawling insects. Have no fear about being able to fit large adults on these portable picnic tables, for one of them has been weight tested to carry up to 800 pounds.
The extremely low weight of some of these is also very surprising. Many weigh all of 12 pounds and some weigh a bit more coming in at 20 pounds. But no one goes to a picnic alone, right? Thus, you'll have to help to set it up even if you do purchase the one that weighs a bit more. The extra weight, by the way is due to the fact that the seats in that particular model are made of wood, pine to be exact.
But, camping is not the full extent of where a portable picnic table will be useful. Imagine using it in a pre-game tailgate party? Or, how do you think you'd feel being infield at the Daytona International Speedway awaiting the Daytona 500 races to begin with one of these delightful picnic tables?
Some people have been using theirs as a "kiddie" table at large family functions too, for they are comfortable and there's lots of room on the table for the kids to color with crayons or eat the dinner that's been prepared for them. There are no wrinkles as there would be if they ate on a tablecloth spread in the grass either, so you'll get a lot less spills and accidents too! Oh, and the kids felt like "big kids" using the portable picnic table all to themselves too!
There are, of course, bigger and unfortunately heavier versions of a portable picnic table. These are made of sturdier materials, featuring tubular steel legs, as well as 1 3/4 inch thick polyethylene benches and table. The total weight on this one is 90 pounds though.
